Supplier audits have been a constant part of cooperation in trade and industry for many years. Increasing demands on the part of consumers, the growing risk of claims for damages and the globalization of the circulation of goods have made it necessary to create a uniform standard of quality assurance. On the basis of this finding, companies affiliated to HDE - the German Main Retail Trade Association, the FCD Fédération des Entreprises du Commerce et de la Distribution and the Italian Retail Trade Unions CONAD, COOP and Federdistribuzione have created a standard for quality and safety of foodstuffs related to private labels. commercially, International Food Standard.
